Sharen Unsworth (Radboud University): multilingualism
Dr. Sharon Unsworth is a linguist at Radboud University, and researches the language development of children growing up with two or more languages. She looks at, among others, children who acquire English + Dutch or Italian + Dutch as a first language, but also at (hearing) children with many different language backgrounds who learn Dutch as a second language at preschool. Her own children are raised bilingually as well: she and her husband speak her first language (English) with them, and at (pre)school the children use Dutch. For more information, see her homepage.
