The Dutch foundation Woord & Gebaar organises a reading contest for deaf children every year: children from all across the country compete for the prize for the best story teller. They narrate part of a children's book in sign language. Children used to be preselected through the deaf schools, but since 2016 any deaf child can participate, also when they are in mainstream education. A major sign language event every year!
